INTEGRATED ENGLISH CLASS
Capital Region Career & Technical School’s Integration Program allows students to earn academic credit right in their CTE classes. Instead of taking an English class at their home school, students earn English class credit writing about their CTE field of study. Mr. Bevan pioneered this concept back in 2001 before this trend expanded nationally to CTE schools everywhere. His class, Technical Portfolio & Communication, focused on creating a masterwork porfolio to make CTE students look valuable to prospective employers. This later expanded to both Math and Science campus-wide. Bevan has since penned a book explaining best practices of integrating academic credit into CTE Education, as well as lesson plans, ideas, and materials to make it happen. CHECK IT OUT.
